Summary
The 2019 HRS growing region made some progress this past week with 87% of the crop now harvested. The northern durum harvest continues to be slow, impeded by damp conditions across the growing region. The effects of continued precipitation are seen with recent samples that have below average protein, falling number, test weight and vitreous kernel content from both crops. The average HRS and durum grades currently are U.S. No. 1 Northern Spring (1 NS) and U.S. No. 1 Amber Durum (1 AD).
