The Minnesota Wheat Council 2019 Request for Proposal Timeline

September 3, 2019 – Email requesting
pre-proposals sent out.

September 1 through November 16, 2019:
• Optional opportunities to meet with small group of growers to discuss research ideas.  (Contact Charley Vogel for more information if interested at 218-253-4311 ext. 1 or email cvogel@mnwheat.com)

12:00 p.m. November 20, 2019:
• Electronic copies of pre-proposals are due to the Minnesota Wheat Council Send to (gpodenski@mnwheat.com and cvogel@mnwheat.com).

December 11, 2019:
• Researchers present pre-proposal to MN Wheat Research Committee at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, ND.
• MN Wheat Research Committee reviews pre-proposals and prioritizes them, then calls for full proposals from top ranking pre-proposals.

December 13, 2019
Researchers notified to submit full proposal.

January 17, 2020
Full proposals are due electronically, send to (gpodenski@mnwheat.com and cvogel@mnwheat.com)

January 29, 2020
Research Committee reviews full proposals and recommends funding to MN Wheat Council Board

January 29, 2020
MN Wheat Council acts on committee recommendations at their board meeting

January 30, 2020
PI’s and researchers notified of MN Wheat Council funding decisions.

Note: Pre-proposals are different from a full proposal, in that the pre-proposal does not require being processed through university/organization sponsored programs, or granting/budgeting. If a full proposal is requested of the project after a presentation has been made to the Research Committee, then the normal channels for a proposal must be gone through.
