Proposals are due electronically

  • Request for Proposal sent out by Minnesota Wheat Research and Promotion Council.
  • The link to the proposal forms: https://mnwheat.org/council/request-proposals/
  • Principal Investigators (PI) may begin submitting proposals with itemized budgets approved by their sponsored programs and/or accounting departments.
  • Electronic copies of full proposals (with approved budgets) must be emailed to Brian Sorenson at bsorenson@mnwheat.com by 11:59 PM on November 15, 2025.
  • The MN Wheat Research Committee will preview all proposals. PIs will be notified by November 28, 2025 if they will be asked to give a presentation on December 10, 2025.
  • PIs will give a presentation on their proposal to the MN Wheat Research Committee at their meeting from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, ND. PIs can give their presentations in person or via Zoom, and each PI will have 15 minutes to present and answer questions.
  • The MN Wheat Research Committee will forward their funding recommendations to the Minnesota Wheat Research and Promotion Council.
  • The Minnesota Wheat Research and Promotion Council will review the recommendations of the MN Wheat Research Committee at their January board of directors meeting and make their final decisions on which proposals will receive funding.
  • PIs will be notified by email January 31, 2026 if their proposal will receive funding.
  • Contracts will be emailed by February 27, 2026 to grant recipients for signatures.
  • Invoices for expenses from January 1 through June 30, 2026 may be submitted after July 1, 2026.
  • Project report must be submitted to bsorenson@mnwheat.com by November 15, 2026 for inclusion in the Research Book to be handed out at winter educational programs. Missing this deadline may impact future grant funding opportunities.
  • Invoices for expenses through December 31, 2026 must be submitted along with financial and final project reports by February 26, 2027.
