The Minnesota Wheat Research & Promotion Council
The Minnesota Wheat Research and Promotion Council directs funds from the Minnesota Wheat Checkoff to conduct research to develop new wheat varieties and improve agronomic practices. The Council also directs funds to promote the state’s high quality, Hard Red Spring Wheat crop to grain buyers, flour millers, and food processors in international and domestic markets. The Council consists of nine producer-members that are elected by Minnesota wheat producers.

Who We Are
Members of the Minnesota Wheat Research and Promotion Council are elected to direct Minnesota wheat checkoff dollars to benefit wheat producers.
Board members must be wheat producers willing to serve as leaders and advocates for the Minnesota wheat industry and to work to improve industry profitability and viability. To be considered, a person must have shared in the profits and risk of loss from producing wheat during the current or preceding marketing year.
